Piesie Esther's "Mentease" is available to stream now — an eight-track gospel album that's become one of the more enduring entries in her catalogue.
Released in 2019, Mentease moves through faith, prayer, thanksgiving and dependence on God, carried by the same combination of straightforward Christian songwriting and strong vocal delivery that runs through most of her music.
The tracklist
Mentease opens with "Empareme" and continues through "Me Nte Ase," "Adesoa," "Hwehwe Me Mu," "Soma Ogya," "Kraman Funu," "Odimafo," and "Kae Me." Of the eight, "Hwehwe Me Mu" has had the most attention on streaming — it's officially listed as part of Mentease on Spotify.
Where it sits in her catalogue
Mentease came before several of the songs Piesie Esther is now best known for — "Wayɛ Me Yie," "Mo," "Nyame Ye," "Gyidi Kese Medley," and "Ogya (Refix)" all followed it. In 2023, she won Gospel Artiste of the Year and Best Gospel Song at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, recognition that came after years of steady output rather than a single breakout moment.
Mentease is streaming on Spotify, Apple Music and Audiomack.
